Sister Sister

Received my new light bulbs and took new portraits of my sister. I took around 50 images on my digital camera and two rolls 35mm. I havent' developed the film yet, but I have began to work on the digital ones. Here are a couple sample shots. I took. I will be updating my website as soon as I have my new work complete.

Update

Ugh, I haven't written much in the past week or so. Most of it is due to the fact that I've been incredibly busy and stressed these past few weeks. I'm only a month away from moving to D.C. and the nervousness has begun to kick in. I have however, managed to doseveral fun things in the last two weeks.

Satuday, Sunday, and Monday April 9th-11th.
I did something spontaneous, which doesn't happen very often. Danny had told me him and Mark were going to San Antonio on Saturday night after work, and were spending Sunday and monday there. He invited me to go with them, but I didnt want to drive to SA that late on Saturday. So, I drove to San Antonio on Saturday afternoon, alone. I figured I could visit Annette, and eventually party with Danny and Mark later. I called Annette and she offered to let me stay at her place. The trip was a blast. I managed to survive on 100 dollars. Annette bascially paid for everything on Sat night, including my food. I LOVE YOU ANNETTE. Thanks a great bunch! Mark and Danny didnt get there till Sunday morning, so we went out to several gay bars that night. I must say we had a lot of fun and Danny puked a couple of times. I think he drank way pass his limit....well so did I, but I didnt puke. I know how to contain my alcohol...jk.

Thursday April 14th.
Once again was invited to go to the Tack Room. Danny and Mark were both working, and we planned to go out after they got out. Danny's friends Lupita and Erika were both there so they went with us as well. Two old geezers at the bar who were visiting from Houston kept on flirting with the girls, and eventually, they bought them drinks. One of them asked us if we could find the lion making love to the camel on the picture on the front of the camel cigarrettes. We did find it. Can You? Try it. When Danny and Mark got off work, we decided to go. The old guys tagged along to Vodka Republic, which is where we were going. It turned out to be a good night. The old farts bought us all rounds of drinks and I got hammered on 5 bucks total..jk.

Heres a pic of me I took this week. I look like a mess dont I:

"If You Wanna Be Rich, You've got to be a Bitch"

Those are some of the lyrics to this really cool, funky song I downloaded this week. I'ts called "White Horse" by a group called Laid Back. Actually there's another version of the song by a group called The gap Band. I'm not sure which is the version I'm listening to, but they are both cool. I don't know how to describe the music...synth-pop I guess? In any case, it's from the 80s where the use of synthesizers and electronic sounds were very popular. I've heard this song was really popular in its' time, but I dont remember ever hearing it before.

In other news, the last two nights have been interesting. Thursday night was a night of heavy drinking. I started off at the Tack Room (in La Posada) where my friends Danny and Mark work. I had two free, really good margaritas with really good tequila. After my friends got out of work, we headed to Vodka Republic, where I once again had a long conversation with Patrick about being catholic. I had quite the hangover the following morning. Last night Melissa and I went to Johnny carinos to have food and drinks. She suggested we bar-hop so we continued the night at Cheers, then Cold Brew, and finally at Zebras.

Tonight, I'll probably go to San Antonio. I'm not so sure if it is a good idea because we won't be leaving until Danny and Mark get out of work (12AM). It is kinda late and by the time we get to SA, the clubs will be closing down. Danny said HEAT, a gay club there stays open till the wee hours of the morning. So, I'm still debating the possibility. I talked to Annette and she said she'd hang out with us and I can get to stay with her at her place. I'm thinking and thinking and I think I have to thing about it a little longer.

I Kissed Jimmy Fallon?

I dreamt last night that I was flirting with Jimmy Fallon at some party. I don't remember the exact details of the party or what I was doing there. In fact, it strikes me as strange that I would be dreaming about Jimmy Fallon because I don't think he's attractive at all. I don't even find him cute. Anyway, in the dream, he followed me to the restroom and was asking me if I wanted to go into a stall and fool around. I tell him that I would, except I couldn't because I had a boyfriend. But, one thing leads to another and we're kissing and making out a bit in some stall. Suddenly, some man walks in and discovers us. Jimmy Fallon freaks out and runs out of the bathroom and gets in a van with Tina Fey. Days later Im at home and Tina Fey is on Saturday Night Live talking about Jimmy Fallon's arrest for having sex with Jamie Foxx in a public restroom. What the hell is that all about?????

The Night of the Dannys/Dennys

Danny's birthday party was fun. We had a really good time. Annette was in town, so she accompanied me to the get together. At first I was a bit worried about Annette not enjoying herself because she didn't know Danny or any of the people that would be there. But, she had a wonderful time. We got to even hit his piƱata, which was shaped as a Buchanan Bottle. We were blindfolded and spun around like kids...it was cool. We weren't there very late, so Im not sure if Danny got to open his gifts. I got him (the movie Jawbreaker...shhh). He's always quoting it and I believe it's one of his favorites. Im sure he'll enjoy it. I also got him a bottle of Pino Grigio. I hope he enjoys that as well.
After we left the party, Annette and I went to Denny's and had some food. I wanted to spend time with her alone so we could talk and catch up. I really hadn't seen her in months, so we had an amazing time chatting for a couple of hours. She told me all about her 3 month relationship with her previous boyfriend, who was Indian. I think she was devastated after that breakup. From what she tells me, the guy didn't seem well suited for her, and he also seemed brutally honest. She admits to falling for him, which is understandable. She's a hopeless romantic, as am I. But, like I told her: She's smart, beautiful, funny, and good hearted, so any guy would be lucky to be with her. Funnily enough, all her interests since then, have been Indian. She is currently talking to a guy she works with, who is Indian as well. She's not sure where it's headed, but for now they seem to be good friends. The night ended well, I went home only to realize that the time had changed to an hour ahead. I fixed my clocks and went to bed. I hope to see Annette again soon.

Annette is Here!

Guess who called me today? Annette! One of my best and closest friends is in town this weekend to visit ME! I'm so happy. I haven't seen her since New Years Eve and that was only for like 20 minutes. I'm hoping to get to hang out with her all weekend. I'm sure its gonna be tons of fun! Annette and I go way back. She was one of the first friends I made when I worked at my first job. I was 17 at the time, just a fat stupid kid working at the local movies (Cinemark Movies 12: The best seat in town!)..JK. Annette and I went to the same high school, but we never crossed paths until we worked together. She was so pretty and friendly and cool. We immediately hit it off and our friendship blossomed. We became incredibly close and to this day, she remains one of my closest, most dearest and cherished friends. I adore her. Soon after graduating high school though, she moved to College Station to attend college. I remember how sad I was that I wasn't going to get to spend time with her anymore. I missed her so much. We still got to see each other during holidays and special events, and we'd visit each other sometimes. But, it was never the same. Those first three years of periodically seeing each other and hanging out were the best. I missed her. I missed her alot. She graduated from CS as a computer engineer and went on to work at NASA. She lived in Houston for a couple years and recently she moved to San Antonio. It's kinda sad that we might now be even more distant from seeing each other because Im moving. But, she's already talked about visiting me and Luis in D.C. I hope our friendship continues throughout our entire lives. She is a wonderful human being with an exceptional good heart. I love you Annette.
